About Lisa

It is so great to be working at such a warm and welcoming school.  This is my third year as a special educator at Oak Grove School for grades K-3.  In 2009, I graduated Keene State College with a degree in General Education.  I quickly realized that I wanted to go back to school and help children with learning differences.  I graduated Keene State College in 2011 with a Master’s Degree in Special Education.  I’m always fascinated with the different learning styles that make up our community at Oak Grove School.  In 2014, I graduated from The Reading Institute in Williamstown to earn a Reading Specialist Degree.  I feel as though reading opens the world to many possibilities and it is crucial that our students are able to have foundational skills in reading so that it never feels like a challenge in life.  In my spare time I enjoy being outside and surrounding myself with animals.  In the past I have mentored a service dog in training through the NEADS program.  I raised a lab for a full year and socialized him in many environments.  He graduated and is now helping people in crisis.  Wouldn’t it be great to have our own therapy dog at Oak Grove School?
